Note: Dr. Fazzini does not mention the name of Mr. John D. Cooney, who
at the time was the curator of the Egyptian Art Department of the Brooklyn
Museum. The opinion that Mr. Cooney expressed was done on the official
letterhead of the Brooklyn Museum and was in no way his personal opinion.
Mr. Huang brings to the attention of the Museum "... the new
discoveries...in dating artificats..." which is completely ignored by Dr.
Fazzini and the Brooklyn Museum.
Note: Dr. Rogers agrees that "...using some of the new technologies to
examine the objects...is a fine one...". When the Mansoors invited him to
proceed with the testing, their request was ignored based on "...a lawsuit
brought against us...", a lawsuit was was never filed nor considered
by the Mansoors.
Note: The Mansoors sent a second request and included the statement of
April 8, 2002 which clarified the Mansoors' position on the issue of the
"lawsuit". No response was received by the Mansoors. The statement is
available here
“On reading the reports, it would seem that just about the last word has
been said on the subject. I should think you would be well content with the expert opinions expressed by Dr. Kirk,
Dr. Arnal and others. I don't think there is much point in getting another opinion, even though it is from a person
connected with a prominent institution.”
- Rutherford J. Gettens, Curator of the Research Laboratory of the Freer Gallery of Art
in a letter dated August 25, 1959, addressed to Dr. Fred H. Stross.
